The Pocket Umbrella is designed to provide simple tools for exploring household financial scenarios while collecting as little personal information as reasonably necessary.

This Privacy Policy explains how information may be handled when you use this website and its tools.

Calculator inputs

Financial information entered into our calculators is processed locally in your browser. The Pocket Umbrella does not intentionally receive or store calculator entries such as income, mortgage amounts, CPF OA amounts and savings on its servers as part of the calculation.

The CPF Contribution Calculator, CPF Housing Runway, CPF Savings to 55 Planner and CPF Housing & Cash Planner use the figures you enter to perform calculations within your browser. These calculators do not deliberately save your entries for future visits, send them to our servers for calculation, or connect to your CPF, HDB or bank accounts.

Budget Lens temporarily saves your working answers in your browser’s session storage so you can continue if you reload the page. These answers are not sent to our servers for calculation. You can clear the saved exercise by choosing “Start over” and confirming. Depending on your browser’s settings, session information may remain available when a tab or browsing session is restored.

Calculator entries are not sent to CPF Board, HDB or another financial service as part of the calculation. Where a calculator estimates CPF contributions from salary, it does so locally using reviewed CPF rules. We do not intentionally include calculator financial inputs or results in analytics.

These explanations describe how our calculators handle the information you enter. Other website functions, such as hosting, security services, cookies and any analytics services in use, may process technical information about your visit. These are separate from the financial calculations and are explained in the relevant sections below.

If the way a tool processes or stores information changes in the future, the relevant information provided with that tool and this Privacy Policy will be updated where appropriate.

Information you choose to provide

If you use the feedback form, we collect the information you choose to submit. This may include your name, email address and the contents of your message.

Providing your name and email address is optional. If you provide an email address, we may use it to respond to your message.

Feedback submissions may be stored in our website systems and sent to our email service so that we can review and respond to them. Please avoid including sensitive personal or financial information in your message.
